Jane A. Barnhouse, 81

Jane A. Barnhouse, 81, of Beaver Falls (Chippewa Twp.)  died on  Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born May 14, 1931 in New Galilee, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Lida McCready Senn. She was married to Arthur J.  Barnhouse who passed away September 23, 1986.

Jane worked in the concession stand at the Chippewa Twp. swimming pool. While residing in Florida, she worked as a teacher’s aid for the PInewood Elementary School in North Lauderdale.  She was a member of the Chippewa United Presbyterian Evangelical Church.

Survivors include two sons, Jay (Marsha) Barnhouse of Chippewa Twp, Robbie (Victoria) Barnhouse of North Lauderdale, FL; sister – Marjorie (James) Goodrich of Mt. Jackson and two grandchildren, Kelly (Matthew) Hess of Pittsburgh and Jason of Ft. Lauderdale.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Stewart, Herbert and Robert Senn.

Private graveside services were held at the Union Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to CUP Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 530 Blackhawk Rd. Beaver Falls, PA 15010.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum.

  1. Jane was the very first person I met when I started working at Pinewood back in 1994, we immediately hit it off and continued to be friends even after she retired to Pennsylvania. We chatted daily as I drove to and from work. We shared secrets, we cried together, we gossiped and we laughed. I always told her she was the big sister I never had. I miss her. Love you Jane…….Deb

  2. So sad to hear of Jane’s passing. Our deepest sympathy to Robbie, Jay and family. We have very fond memories of Jane and the years at the Chippewa pool.

    I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. She was a great lady to know.
    I first met her when i was a child as she worked at the consession stand at the Chippewa Pool along with Jack Fullen and my grandfather Dave Hagy.

  8. My sincere condolences to your family. I was lucky enough to meet Janie in 1990 at Pinewood Elementary. She always greeted me with a smile and a sweet word. We got to work side by side with the dear little ones that she so lovingly cared for every day. Janie truly was a special lady and will always hold a special place in my heart.

    Was saddened to learn of the passing of your mother. She was a such a warm and friendly person. I remember her very fondly and how open and giving she was to me. She gave me my first babysitting job. It was so nice to have such wonderful neighbors as your family. Remebering all of you and are keeping you in prayer.
