David R. Bell, 70, of Kanawha St., Ellwood City (North Sewickley Twp.) died on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the Heritage Valley – Beaver Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born September 16, 1942 in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late John P. and Ruth Harris Bell. He was married for 46 years to Connie Gahagan Bell, who survives.
David retired from B&W Steel Co, where he was a millwright in the hot mill department. In 2000, he started Bell Deer Processing in Ellwood City. He was an active member of the Beaver Falls Christian Assembly Church where he especially enjoyed the summer prayer walks for the city. Dave served on the Riverside School Board for eight years where he served as its president for several years. He was the chairman of the Venison Dinners at the Park Gate Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was very handy with tools and enjoyed woodworking.
In addition to his wife, Connie, survivors include two sons and their wives, David and Klaryce Bell of Negley, Ohio, John “J.P.” and Cara Bell of Wampum; daughter and her husband, Debra and James McCullough of Ellwood City; sister and brother in law, Deana and Clyde Squires of Ohio; brother and sister in law, John and Audell Bell of Wampum; four grandchildren, Jonathan and Brittany McCullough, and Domenic and Amber Rose Bell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren, Tristan L. and Trustan L. Bell.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday January 14, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.
Friends will also be received on Tuesday from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at the Beaver Falls Christian Assembly Church. Pastor Dale Russo will officiate. Interment will follow in the Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
