John A. Scott, 92

John A. Scott, 92, of Scott Wallace Rd. , Enon Valley ( Little Beaver Twp.) died on  Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Jameson Memorial Hospital following a short illness.

Born June 26, 1920 in Little Beaver Twp.,  he was the son of the late William A. “W.A.”  and Mary K McGinnis Scott.  He was married for 65 years to Martha Jean Gilkey Scott who passed away August 14, 2012.

John was a lifelong farmer, having plowed for 80 consecutive years.  Mr. Scott graduated from Enon High School in 1938.  John was a member and past master of the Big Beaver Grange.  He was Protestant by faith.

Survivors include two sons, John E. (Betty) Scott, James G. (Lori) Scott, both of Enon Valley; two daughters, Susan E. (Ken) Stull of Fredonia, PA, Marilyn K. (Keith) Eichhorn of Pickerington, Ohio; sister, Mary Alice Bradley of New Castle; eleven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Martha; two sisters, Lovella Hunt, Belle Foster; and brother, William L. Scott

Visiting hours will be held on  Tuesday April 23, 2013 from  noon until the time of the funeral service at 2 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum.  Rev. Mark Tippen of the Bethel United Presbyterian Church will officiate.  Interment will follow in Little Beaver Cemetery.

  1. We extend our deepest sympathy to all the John Scott Family. We have good memories of him…..like waving to him everytime he passed our house…..his quiet nature….and his great family. A good neighbor to all of us in our Enon Valley area.
