Catherine J. Tavis Hughes, 61, of Ada Drive, Ellwood City, passed away October 11, 2013, at the Ellwood City Hospital.
Born in Geneva on the Lake, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Evelyn Mayfield Tavis. Catherine enjoyed bird watching and antique cars.
Surviving is her husband of 42 years, William J. Hughes Jr.; one daughter, Diana (Ronald) Graham of Kansas; three sons, William J. (Christy) Hughes III of Frisco, Michael W. (Renae) Hughes of Ellwood City, and Adam Patrick (Toni) Hughes of Franklin Twp.; twelve grandchildren, Emma, Abby Kate, Cooper and Ziggy Graham, and Woodrow, Calvin, Mikey, Ethan, Allison, Ben, Sam, and Abby Hughes; two sisters, Mary Ellen (Henry) Krakovsky and Elizabeth (William) Luffey, and one brother, Joseph Walter (Shelley) Tavis, all of Pittsburgh, and her in-laws, William J. and Mary Hughes Sr. of Frisco.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 200 Fountain Ave., Ellwood City. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at 10 a.m. in the Holy Redeemer Church, 4th Street, Ellwood City.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Catherine’s name may be made to the Salvation Army or Beaver County Food Bank.
