John “Sonny” Kolik Jr., 66

John “Sonny” Kolik, 66, of Meadowland Ave., Ellwood City (Perry Twp.) died unexpectedly on Monday, October 28, 2013 at his residence.

Born October 28, 1947 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late John and Mary Kosior Kolik Sr. He was married to the late Susan Sweet Kolik who passed away May 22, 2006.

Sonny retired from the Butler Post Office. He graduated from Lincoln High School and St. Vincent College. An Army Veteran, he served from 1969 -1972 during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Church.

Survivors include a son, Christopher (Thuy Linh) Kolik of Cincinnati, Ohio; a daughter, Alison (Benjamin) Edgerton of Glenshaw, PA; two sisters, Rita (Martin) Woloszyn and Janet (Sam) Pezzi, both of Chewton; and five grandchildren, Isabelle, Jonah, and Ruby Kolik and Dylan and Hadley Edgerton.

He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday November 1 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10 am at the Holy Redeemer Church.

Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Military rites will be offered by the Veterans Honor Guard.
