Virgil L. “Butch” Allen, 64

Virgil L “Butch” Allen, 64, of Smithsburg, Maryland, formerly of Wampum died unexpectedly on Friday, October 11, 2013 at his residence.

Born September 30, 1949 in Wampum, he was the son of the late John and Eunice Kirkwood Allen .

Butch was a carpenter, specializing in building new homes. He enjoyed NASCAR and was an avid Steeler fan. He also loved to fish.

Survivors include his companion, Bonnie McClelland with whom he resided; four daughters, Belinda (Paul) Hervatine of Wampum, Krystal (Mike) Bernardi of Port Charlotte, Florida, Carey (Tom) Stroia of New Castle, Tammy (fiance – Domenic Pisani) Allen of New Castle; a sister, Linda (Rich) Wise of Orrtanno, PA; 9 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by former wife, Sandra J. Brommer Allen who passed away February 24, 2003

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday October 15, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum.

Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in the Grand View Cemetery

    We are so very sorry for your loss. Butch was always so nice to us and we enjoyed him being at the flea market. We will keep you and all of his family in our thoughts and prayers. RIP Butch.
