William E. Geddes, 62

William E. Geddes, 62, of North St., Ellwood City died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at his residence.

Born December 30, 1950 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Ross and Eleanor Buckingham Geddes. He was married to Joyce F. Fields Geddes who passed away August 9, 2003.

William retired in 2010 from the former Duquesne Light, currently First Energy, where he was an electrician. He was a Veteran of the US Navy, serving in Vietnam. Bill graduated from Lincoln High School in 1969. He was a member of the Ellwood City Moose and Elks Clubs. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan.

Survivors include two sons, Eric Geddes and his companion, Shannon Detrick of New Castle, Chris (Harley) Geddes of Alabama; three daughters, Ashley (David) Tanner and Heather Geddes, both of Ellwood City, Martha (Frank) Ruzzo of New Castle; a brother, Clinton Geddes of New Castle; ten grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday October 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.

Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 am. Military rites will be offered by the Veterans Honor Guard.

Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.

  2. I served with Bill in the US Navy … almost 43 years ago in Patuxant River, MD. He was a great guy. Always smiling and always there if you needed a friend. I can see that grin of his now 🙂 My condolences to his family and friends…..

    I will miss you very very very much. You were my boyfriend of 8 years. You will be miss by very very very much. Also my pets will miss you very. Lucky is looking around the house for you and so are the cats. Everytime Lucky see’s a Blue Truck he thinks it you in your truck, when the truck doesn’t pull in the driveway he get’s sad and I also do. You were a great great great guy we had a very nice friendship. I will miss you very much. I will be praying for you. Love you always. Rose and pets.
