Ralph L. Pitzer, 85, of Rhodes Place, New Castle, formerly of Wampum, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Jameson Memorial Hospital.
Born September 8, 1928 in Homewood, PA, he was the son of the late Ralph L. and Sadie Gipe Pitzer. He was married for 64 years to June Stanford Pitzer, who survives.
Ralph retired in 1990 from Medusa Cement Co. He was an active member of the Wampum Presbyterian Church where he served as a former Deacon. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and hunting.
In addition to his wife, June, survivors include a daughter, Karen (Bob) Caron of Willoughby, Ohio; sister, Inez Aldan of Chewton; grandson, Bob (Erin) Caron Jr. of Homerville, Ohio; and a great-granddaughter, Lilly Caron.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ralph L. “Sammy” Pitzer Jr, two sisters, Gaynell Romanoski and Dorothy Nulph, and a brother, Albert Pitzer.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday January 20 from 4 – 7 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 am with his pastor, Rev. Dr. William R. McGary officiating. Interment will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.
