Julia L. Stiles, 97, of Davidson St., Wampum died on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Ellwood City Hospital following a short illness.
Born June 15, 1916 in Chrome, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Theresa Venczel Szabo. She was married for 63 years to Leonard J. “Shake” Stiles who passed away May 25, 2011.
Julia retired from Leeds and Northrup in Ellwood City. She was a member of the Wampum Presbyterian Church. Julia was also a member of the Paws and Taws Square Dance Club, the Holiday Ramblers Travel Club and the Hungarian Home. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her great grandson.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis (Amy) Stiles of Wampum, David Stiles of Gibsonia; four grandchildren, Kelly and Kevin Stiles, Alex Stiles and Patricia Cox; and a great grandson, Tristan Stiles.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Julia Ann on October 27, 1969 and a daughter in law, Ruth Stiles. The last of her family she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Conte, Betty Chuhra; and six brothers, Miklos, Dan, Andrew, Alex, Louis,and Frank “Elmer” Szabo.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday March 9 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11 am with her pastor, Rev. Dr. William R. McGary officiating.
Interment will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery.

So sorry to hear of your mother’s passing, but like our mother she lived a long life and was able to enjoy her family.
I often remember all the fun we had at the reunions and just spending time together. Unfortunately after we moved to Kentucky we lost touch.
