Ronald L. Mills, 64, of Wampum Rd., Wampum (North Beaver Twp.) died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at his residence.
Born August 9, 1949 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late James E. and Jean Marie Winegar Mills Sr. He was married on June 7, 1969 to the love of his life, Emma Novalesi Mills, who survives.
Upon graduation from Mohawk High School in 1967, Ron was employed at Babcock and Wilcox for 17 years. Following their closure, Ron continued his education and graduated from Penn State – Shenango in 1989 as an electrical engineer. He was currently employed at the Mine Safety Appliances in Cranberry Twp. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Church in Ellwood City. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was an avid Steeler Fan. His most cherished time was spent with family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Emma, survivors include three daughters, Rhonda (Vincent) Brown, Connie (Bruce Hairhoger) Downey, Stacey (Doug) Llewellyn, all of New Castle; brother, James “Skip” (Eileen) Mills Jr. of Koppel; and six grandchildren, Brandon and Brittany Downey of Wampum, Brian Mann Jr. of Ellwood City, Anthony Mann, Veronica and Savannah Llewellyn, all of New Castle
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday April 3 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10 am at Holy Redeemer Church. Interment will follow in the Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
