Mildred M. Jenkins, 97

Mildred M. Jenkins, 97, formerly of Koppel and New Galilee, died on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Providence Care Center.

Born December 31, 1916 in Koppel, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Ida Smith Milliron. She was married to Frederick D. Jenkins Sr. who passed away November 17, 1971.

Survivors include three daughters, Kathryn Potts of Lakeland, Florida, Emily Hilton of Patterson Twp., Alice Stanley of Grand Rapids, Michigan; two sons, Fred D. Jenkins Jr. of Wampum, Frank J. Jenkins of Darlington; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, and two sisters.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday August 6 from 2-4 and 6 until the time of the funeral service at 8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum.

Rev. Ed Hanley of the New Galilee Church of the Nazarene will officiate. Interment will follow in the Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery.

  1. To the Jenkins Family; We were very sorry to read about Millie’s passing. We have fond memories of growing up and living in New Galilee. We are sorry we will not be able to attend the services. Our thoughts are with you.

  2. Kay, Fred, and Frank, Just know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Your Mom had a good long life and she will be remembered fondly by all of the old neighborhood kids. I got to visit with her on one of my trips east a few years ago and we reminisced about the old days when we were growing up in Galilee. My deepest sympathies to you all.
