Lazetta M. Beachem, 83, of State Rt. 488, Portersville (Perry Twp.) passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 23, 2015 at her residence.
Born December 19, 1931 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine Schmitz Bender. She was married for 61 years to Keith Beachem who passed away April 19, 2013.
Lazetta graduated from Lincoln High School in 1951. She worked as a telephone operator in Ellwood City. Mrs. Beachem was a member of the Wurtemburg United Methodist Church. Her most cherished time was spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include four sons, Linn Beachem of Portersville, Dennis (Barbara) Beachem of Ellwood City, Mark (Sussana) Beachem of Germany, John and his former wife, Nan Beachem of Portersville; thirteen grandchildren, Justin (Brandi) Beachem, Emily Beachem, Joshua Beachem, Lyncie Blair, Bryan Beachem, Laurel (Ryan) Brest, Austin (Samantha) Beachem, Lacey (Dean) Marks, Hunter Beachem, ShaeLyn Beachem, Domenick Beachem, Nico Beachem, and Kyree Beachem; and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Andy, Henry, Bill, and John Bender; and a granddaughter, Tessa Beachem.
As per Lazetta’s wishes, a private funeral service will be held Wednesday with her pastor, Rev. Jean Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
In honor of her late husband, memorial contributions may be made to American Liver Foundation, 100 W. Station Square Dr. Pittsburgh, PA 15219.

I am so sorry for your Loss. Lazzetta was one of a kind, you just had to love her. I will miss her.I will miss her phone call,just to ask me what i was doing then hear her say”didya hear……”. She always had a story to tell me. She had that kind,caring side and believe me, at family gathering my sister and i would look around to find her so we could go sit with her because we knew wherever Lazetta was fun would follow. Thank you for sharing her with me.You all will be in my prayers.
I was so saddened to hear about Lazetta’s passing. She was such a sweet lady. She will always forever be missed. I pray she is now happy again with Keith and living it up in Heaven.
