Linda L. (Reno) Copits, 75, of Ellwood City, beloved Mother of Tama Barkley and John (JT) Copits passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on April 14, 2015.
Linda was born in New Castle, PA on October 8th 1939. She graduated from Shenango High School.
Linda was married to John T. Copits, Jr on September 2, 1961; they were married 32 years. John passed away on October 14th, 1993. Linda married Paul Booher on June 28th, 2005. They were married for 4 years until his passing on June 14th, 2009.
Linda worked as an Optometric Assistant for both Dr. Carcaise and Dr. Moore in Ellwood City. She enjoyed spending time with her family most of all in life and was an extremely positive influence on her children, grandchildren and great grandchild. She was a strong and loyal person who loved to stay busy. She was a great organizer and made everyone who got to know her walk away a better person. She enjoyed sweets, playing all types of games, eating pizza with extra sauce and an occasional Coors Light. She enjoyed cheering for her grandson in several sports, playing with her great grandson and watching her two granddaughters grow up to become loving and caring adults. She also loved spending time with her friends in the Rapid Tappets Car Club in New Castle.
Linda is survived by her sisters, Beryle Prestopine and Charlene (William) Chapman; brother, Glenn “Muggs” (Donna) Reno, all of New Castle; children Tama (Robie) Barkley of Freedom; and John “JT” (Beth) Copits III of Carlisle; three grandchildren, Blair Barkley, Paige (Brandon) Cshuta and John “Tommy” Copits IV; one great grandchild, Wyatt Allen Cshuta; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Linda was also preceded in death by her Mother and Father (Glenn and Helen Reno) and brother in law Michael Prestopine.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 17 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. The blessing service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 am. Burial will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Shriners Hospital, 1645 West 8th St. Erie, PA 16505 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 322 Eighth Ave. 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.

Very sad day for the Reno Family. Lynda was a very strong and beautiful person, sister and family member. She will be sadly missed by everybody that had the pleasure of knowing her. Love you and you will be missed. Rest in Peace. Muggs and Donna.
JT, so sory to hear the news about your Mom- she was always fun to be around, enjoyed her visits to Carlisle. Sadly I willl be out of town this week, I will catch up with you next week.
I graduated fr Shenango with Linda & Paul. Sorry to read of Linda’s passing. She will be missed.
