Rita Jo Nicol, 68

NicolRita Jo Nicol, 68, of Clark Rd., Enon Valley (Little Beaver Twp.) passed away Friday, May 1, 2015 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital following a brief illness.

Rita was born March 31, 1947 in Rochester. She retired from Rochester Area High School where she taught business accounting for 30 years. Rita graduated as the Valedictorian from Monaca High School. She continued her education receiving her Bachelor’s Degree from Geneva College and then her Master’s Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Rita enjoyed actively working of the family farm. She was an active leader with the Lawrence County 4H Baby Beef club and a member of the PA Limousin Cattle Assn. She was an avid supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Rita also enjoyed spending time with her dogs and cats and flower gardening. Rita greatest pleasure was helping others.

Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Ed Nicol; sister, Juliana (John) Carpenter of Slippery Rock; two nephews and their families. She also leaves behind her in laws and many special friends who cherished their time spent with her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Dudzak Chuey and her step-mother, Geraldine Garrison Chuey.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday May 4 from 5-8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum. Friends will also be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Lawrence County 4H, 430 Court St. New Castle, PA 16101.
