Maxine M. Himes, 78

himesMaxine M. Himes, 78, of Pikes Corner, North Sewickley Twp. passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Heritage Valley – Beaver Hospital.

Born May 10, 1937 in Punxsutawney, PA, she was the daughter of the late Loy Hollabuagh and the late Dorothy Dixon Hollabaugh Pearce. She was married for 60 years to Richard Himes as they were married in August of 1955. He survives.

Maxine was an escort for 20 years at Heritage Valley, Beaver Hospital. She enjoyed reading, flower gardening and doing crafts. Her most cherished time was spent with her family.

In addition to her husband, Richard, survivors include five daughters, Ginger (Rev. Gary) Atkinson of Franklin, PA, Cheri (Rick) Rowles of Punxsutawney, Paula (Scott) Perry of Dayton, PA, Wendy (John) Cooper of Beaver Falls, Diane (Randy) Cunningham of Ellwood City; two sisters; two brothers; fourteen grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and a granddaughter, Carissa Lewis.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday April 19 from 1-4 and 6-8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Friends will also be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 until the time of the funeral service at 11. Maxine’s son in law, Rev. Gary Atkinson will officiate the services. Private interment will be at the Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery.

  1. My heart truly goes out to Maxine’s family. Maxine was a very strong and caring person and will be missed. Our family’s both lost a Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Sister and Aunt just a few weeks apart. “Honor thy Mother”, with all the good memories we had of our Moms. God Bless all of you!!!
