reedray3Raymond D. Reed Jr., 58, of Mt. Jackson passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, August 9, 2016.

Born February 17, 1958 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Raymond D. Reed Sr. and Annette Fandozzi Mahood of Hubbard, Ohio. He was married to Susan Coulter Reed who survives.

Ray was a Supervisor with Smith Paving Company. A Navy Veteran, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and cooking.

In addition to his wife, Susan, survivors include a daughter, Kelly (Jay) Wagner of New Castle; two granddaughters, Zayna and Danika Wagner; two stepchildren, Jamie McClelland of New Bedford, Eric McClelland of Mt. Jackson; two step grandchildren, Mason and Madison McClelland; Ray is also survived by a brother, Robert Reed of Bakersfield, California; and two sisters, Cindy Vestal of Hubbard, Ohio, Lori DePolis of Corona, California.

He was preceded in death by his father, two brothers, Doug and Mike Reed, and a nephew Denny Vestal.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday August 12, 2016 from 5 to 8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum.

Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 pm with Pastor Chuck Fombell of Calvary Independent Church officiating. Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery

    You have my deepest sympathy for your loss

    Ray saw Sue and knew she was the lady he was looking for. Ray loved to work and Sue worked right at his side with him.
    Ray and Sue’s love story was one created by them and will never end.

  4. I was so sorry to here about Ray’s passing, my deepest sympathy to all his family and friends. Ray was one of the greatest guysI have ever known, very loving and kind always went out of his way for others. He has, and always will have a special place in my heart and in the hearts of my family and friends, we all loved him so. I’m grateful to have so many special memories of Ray and will never forget the times we shared, RIP my friend.
