Robert A. Hegedus Sr. of Ellwood City went home to his Lord on Wednesday, September 7, 2016. Bob was78 years old and a friend to many.
Bob was a highly respected manager at Universal Rundle Corporation in the Computer Department and the first to employ a physically challenged person. After his retiring from Universal Rundle he helped maintain the computers at Holy Redeemer School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and most of all, spending time with his family and grandson, Carson. A gifted craftsman, he shared his talents with everyone, always having the humor for the moment, a joy to be around.
Bob was a Head Usher at First Assembly of God in New Castle and a member for 30 years. An awesome example of his Savior to family at home, as well as all he met.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Betty Salvati, a brother in law, Lawrence “Lum” Salvati, Sr. and a niece, Patricia Salvati.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley (Miskolcze) Hegedus; a daughter, Diana L. Hegedus; a son, Robert A. Hegedus Jr. and his son, Bob’s Grandson, our Angel, Carson, all of Ellwood City. He is also survived by a brother in law, William Miskolcze and his wife Barbara from Beaver Falls.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 on Saturday, September 10 at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. The service on Sunday, September 11 will begin at 2:30 at the funeral home with his pastor, Chad Stoecker officiating.
Online condolences may be sent to marshallsfh.com.
Rest in peace, friend.
