David M. McDanel, 74

mcdanelDavid M. McDanel, 74, of Fombell passed away Friday, October 14, 2016 at the Villa St. Joseph of Baden following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Born May 26, 1942 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late H. Lewis and Ada Graham McDanel. He was married for 23 years to Paula Leathers McDanel who survives.

David served in the US Army as a mechanic and truck driver. He continued his truck driving career throughout his life as both a company driver with Warren Sauer’s Trucking in Cranberry and then as an owner/operator with D& M Trucking. With much sadness, he had to retire from driving in 2011 due to complications caused by Parkinson’s Disease. David was affiliated with the Wurtemburg United Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his wife, Paula, survivors include two daughters, Brenda Baumbeck, Robin (Tom) McGuire; two sons, Lonnie and Jon McDanel, all of Pittsburgh; a sister, Sue (Tedd ) Aiken of Ellwood City; three brothers, Benny McDanel of Ellwood City, Edmund (Melanie) McDanel of Garrett, Indiana, Donald (Joyce) McDanel of North Sewickley; ten grandchildren,Billy, Brandon, and Brooke Baumbeck; Jessica and Austin McDanel; Scott and Mark McDanel; and Mathew, Justin, and Jake McGuire.

There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Oct 22 at 11:00 am at the Wurtemburg Presbyterian Church. His nephew, Pastor Keith Yoder will officiate the services. Military rites will be offered by the Veterans Honor Guard.

  3. Paula, Randy and I are very sorry for your loss. Dave was a very good man and he was very nice. We was honored to have meet him. If you need anything or just to talk you can call. We will say prayers for you and Dave’s family. Please give them our condolences.
