Fannie R. Powell, 99

powellFannie R. Powell, 99, formerly of Beaver St. Wampum passed away at the home of her daughter in Mentor, Ohio onTuesday, November 1, 2016 following a short illness.

Born April 26, 1917 in Wampum, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Katherine Golino DeMaio. She was married for 52 years to Andrew J. “Hump” Powell who passed away April 30, 2000.

Fannie graduated from Wampum HIgh School. She was a lifelong member of the former St. Monica Church in Wampum.

Survivors include a son, John J. (Mary Ann) Powell of Wampum; three daughters, Mary (Robert) Kohut of Canfield, Ohio, Ann (Stanley) Silvester and Joan (Tim) Radigan, both of Mentor, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 4 at 11 am at Holy Redeemer Church. Rev. Father Mark Thomas will officiate.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum.

  1. We were always welcomed with open arms, kisses and hugs to my Aunt and Uncle’s home. I have many great memories of visits to my Aunt’s home surrounded by family, food and laughter. I will miss her and all her kindness, but the memories will never fade

  3. Rest in peace dear Fannie. I loved her and knew her my entire life. She was a good person, a good Catholic and a good mother. She always was very kind to me, my brothers and my parents. She was a good example of faith and of living that faith.
