Geraldine Marshall, 89

Geraldine J. Marshall, 89, of Koppel passed away Friday, January 6, 2017 at Ellwood marshall-geraldineCity Hospital. Although in ill health, death was unexpected.

Born March 12, 1927 in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late Arthur J. and Thelma Stanyard Harper. She was married for 69 years to Glenn H. Marshall who survives.

Prior to being married, Gerry worked at Murphy’s in Beaver Falls and Mayer China. She was affiliated with Bell Memorial Presbyterian Church in Ellwood City. She enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, quilting, and playing cards. She also enjoyed country music and traveling. Her most cherished time was spent with family. Gerry took great pride taking care of her home and her family. The twinkle in her eye and her sweet laughter will be greatly missed.

In addition to her husband, Glenn, survivors include two daughters, Karen Bastian of Ellwood City, Linda (Jerry) Crowl of Chippewa; son, Glenn “Buddy” (Terri) Marshall of Koppel; sister, Delores Weiskopf of Virginia; 6 grandchildren, Amber (Jamie) Hudspath, Jodi Kotuby, Dave (Jamie) Kotuby, Zachary (Ann) Marshall, Johnna Mills, Sara (Mike) Sharpe; and three great grandchildren, Joy and Devon Hudspath and Phoenix Pawlosky.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Casciato, Ruthann Harper; and a brother, Arthur J. “Pete” Harper Jr.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday January 9 from 4 to 8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.

Friends will also be received on Tuesday from 10 am until the time of the funeral services at 11 am at the funeral home. Tom O’Brien, Pastor of the First Christian Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery in Beaver Falls.

  1. Sad to see Jerri’s passing. I was browsing the Ellwood news for the first time in ages when I passed the obits and said to myself ‘no tom, it will only make you sad. I did not expect to see Jerri. My heart broke. but what a great photograph to see. A ll my best to my favorite family in west pa.

  2. Sorry for your loss and that I can’t attend services in am in Florida I so agree about the twinkle in her eyes she also had a special laugh
