Dolores McCandless, 64

Dolores McCandless, 64, of Portersville Rd., Ellwood City passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, February 20, 2017 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital. Although she had been in ill health, death was unexpected.

Born March 4, 1952 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Robert W. and Elsie A. Newton McCandlless Sr.

Dolores enjoyed cooking and playing bingo. She also enjoyed playing pool and darts with the Ellwood City Women’s Leagues. Her most cherished time was spent with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Alan Daufen; two daughters, Yvonne (Jayson) Loccisano of South Carolina, Gwendolyn Daufen (Harry Ritter) of Ellwood City; son, Terry (Brandy) Daufen of Mercer; sister, Lisa (Lance) Loccisano; brother, Robert (Cindy) McCandless, both of Ellwood City; six grandchildren, Kelsey, Dalton, Nathaniel, Tyler, Sierra, and Zackery; three step grandchildren; and two step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Chad McCandless and a brother, Terry McCandless.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday February 23 from 4 pm until the time of the funeral service at 7 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.

  1. Was very sad to hear about her passing. I knew she had been I’ll but not this. At least she is not in pain anymore and in a better place. God bless the family.

  3. I’m so sorry for your loss! My heart and prayers go out to the family. She was a great person and will be sadly missed. I’m so glad I got to spend time with her this past summer talking about my mom and grandma. I love you all! RIP Dolores I’ll miss you very much!
