Dolores Mae Houk, 84, formerly of Ellwood City passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the Silverado Memory Care in Austin Texas.
Born April 11, 1932 in Keyser, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ruby Creasy Helmick. She was married for 64 years to Clarence Houk who passed away February 10, 2016.
Dolores graduated from Lincoln High School. She enjoyed gardening and traveling. Her most precious times were spent with family especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Thomas (Cindy) Houk of Waverly, Ohio; daughter, Annette (Carlos) Espinoza of Austin; step sister, Phyllis Lombardo of Cleveland, Ohio; and four grandchildren, Jennifer Houk, Steven Houk, Eric Espinoza, and Kevin Espinoza.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sons, James, John, and Ronald Houk.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday March 18 from 11 am until the time of the funeral service at 12 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Rev. Bruce Gardner of the Berean Presbyterian Church will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to marshallsfh.com.
I have been friends with Dee since our days at Lincoln High School, My last visit with her was at our 60th Class Reunion. We remained in contact through cards and telephone calls until her health conditions prevented it. May her Soul Rest in Peace with her beloved husband, ” Ace” and sons James, John and Ronald.

Mrs Houk was a very respected member of the Lakewood Jr High staff. Also I always enjoyed end of the year parties at her house. Her family is in my thoughts and prayers. What a great lady.
