Delores M. Weingartner, 85

Delores M. Weingartner, 85, of Ellwood Rd., (Wayne Twp.) passed away Monday, June 12, 2017 at her residence.

Born February 18, 1932 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Edith Ross Filippone. She was married for 66 years to Harold “Bucky” Weingartner as they were married May 5, 1951. He survives.

Delores graduated from Lincoln High School in 1950. She was a beautician at her own shop, Delores Weingartner’s Beauty Shop for over 25 years. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Church. Active in the community, Delores was a member of the Ellwood City Hospital Auxiliary, Jr. Women’s Club, Wayne Twp. Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, and the Town and Country Garden Club. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing cards with her card club friends. She also enjoyed dancing and was a member of the Four Seasons Dance Club. Her most cherished time was spent with her family.

In addition to her husband, Bucky, survivors include four daughters, Cynthia (Clyde) Sutton of Carlisle, Denise (James) Wade of Mechanicsburg, Kim Weingartner of Ellwood City, Joyce (Mark) Gebrosky of Cranberry Twp.; eight grandchildren,Patrick Sutton, Jesse (Laurie) Sutton, Emily Wade, Trevor (Allison) Wade, Troy Senchak, Matthew, Megan and Jacob Gebrosky; and two great grandchildren, Fiona Wade and Audrey Sutton.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Joan Haney Rainey.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday June 15 from 5 to 8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at Holy Redeemer Church at11:30 am with Rev. Father Mark Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Slippery Rock Church Cemetery.

    I was sorry to hear from my sister Karen that Aunt Delores died yesterday. It is very sad for me to know that she died so close after my mom (her sister). My heart goes out to you and the family.

    Hugs and my deepest sympathy…..some of my best memories are my days living near the farm. Aunt Delores was a wonderful woman and will be missed by all who knew her……
