Our condolences to Mr. Bargebuhr’s family and to his friend, Georgia Stuart. God be with you in your loss.
Rachel/Georgia,
I am saddened to hear of Alan’s passing. My sympathies are with you.
I spent many a Friday or Saturday at Record Rubble/Off Minor Music discussing Jazz and baseball with my friend Alan. He used to buy some Pirate tickets from me and bring Georgia to games. Always good for laughs as the Pirates were horrible.
I had not talked to Alan since 2015. I still missed his grouch and thought of him every time I read Cadence.
Sincerely,
Brian Zande
Alan was a great radio host on WYEP-FM in the late 1970’s when I knew him well. He did a special on one jazz artist. He invited me in to co-host several programs with him, and I have been doing radio specials for the last 40+ years since we met, but in the Albany NY area. He was a brilliant man.
