Betsy Kriegisch, 57

Mary E. “Betsy” Kriegisch, 57, of Brown Rd., Ellwood City passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at UPMC Mercy Hospital. Although in ill health, her death was unexpected.

Born December 7, 1960 in Rochester, she was the daughter of the late Terrance Laykish and Donna McGovern Laykish Taormina of Brighton Twp. She was married for 35 years to Randall J. Kriegisch who survives.

Betsy graduated from Rochester High School in 1979. She formerly had worked at Giant Eagle, McDonalds, and had been a lunch monitor at Riverside School District. She was affiliated with Holy Redeemer Church. Betsy truly enjoyed watching her girls race cars, playing bingo, spending time with her dogs and most important to her, spending time with her family.

In addition to her mother and husband, survivors include two daughters, Chelsie and Jessica Kriegisch, both at home; three sisters, Kathy (David) Boyde of Monaca, Karen (Paul) Wozniak of Center Twp., Lisa (George) Bedekovich of Rochester; one brother, Terry (Maria) Laykish Jr. of Tarentum; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday from 7-9 pm and on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. A Blessing service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 10 am with Rev. Father Mark Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
