Edward J. Hozick, 53, of Snake Run Rd., Chewton passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at his residence. Although in ill health, death was unexpected.
Born February 29, 1964 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Robert J. “Butsy” Hozick and Helen Louise Rychlicki Hozick of Chewton.
Ed graduated from Shenango High School in 1982. He worked at Koppel Steel and was a member of the Steelworkers Union. Ed was a member of Holy Redeemer Church and the Chewton Polish White Eagles. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, and canning his produce.
In addition to his mother, survivors include a brother, David A. Hozick of Wampum; niece, Andi-Jo Hozick and a nephew, Robert A. “Bobby” Hozick; both of Ellwood City.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Robert M. Hozick.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday February 28 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Redeemer Church on Thursday at 10 am with Rev. Father Mark Thomas officiating. Final interment will take place in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Your family has our deepest sympathies. Eddie was a good person, always stopped to talk to us when we saw him anywhere. He worked with Scott and they always made the job fun and enjoyable. He will be missed. May you and your family find comfort in your faith and in the memories you have made with Eddie.
