Emma L. Blaskowitz, 70

Emma L. Blaskowitz, 70, of Second St, Ellwood City passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at her home.

Born August 14, 1947 in Ellwood City, she was daughter of the late John and Lorena (Gifford) Lutz, Sr. She is survived by her husband of 44 years Dennis P. Blaskowitz, married September 8, 1973.

Emma worked at many companies throughout her life including Mathews Conveyor, the Holiday Inn, Perrone’s Restaurant, Indian Creek Nursing Home and Eat-n-Park. She also graduated from the School of Cosmetology in Poland Springs, ME, with Job Corps. She also assisted her husband in the operations of his Go! Calendar/Game & Toy Stores.

Emma attended both the First Baptist and Park Gate Baptist Churches. She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter. She was active with Football and Baseball Booster Clubs while her boys were involved. Emma enjoyed spending her leisure time with the Harmar Bald Eagle Community of friends, including observation and chat online. Her most cherished time was spent with family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Marcy Blaskowitz of Ellwood City; son Timothy (Cristin) Blaskowitz of Puyallup, WA; Siblings, Sarah Metcalf; George (Carolyn) Lutz; John (Laura) Lutz, Jr; Robert Lutz, Vivian (Mike) Biego; William Lutz; Jeannie (Steve) Socci; Marilyn (Dave) Peters; Pam (Rob) Cosky; Nancy (Wes) Parrish; mother-in-law Hilda Blaskowitz; four grandchildren Brett, Jacob and Molly Blaskowitz; Justin Allen; a great number of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Emma was preceded in death by son Ricky Lynn on November 14, 2017; sister Erma Lutz; and father-in-law Frank J. Blaskowitz, Sr.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 31 at 11 am at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.  Following the services, family and friends are welcome to gather at the Saxon Club 901 Millview St. Ellwood City

  2. I am very sorry for your sudden loss.

    I did not know Emma personally. I did know her through the chat at the Harmar Bald Eagle nest. She was one of the ‘regulars’ that I got to know and trust there. She was very knowledgeable and was quite a pleasure to talk to. Her presence will continue to be missed on the chat.
