Rev. Donald Shellenberger, 91

Rev. Donald Shellenberger, 91, of Ellwood City passed into eternal life on August 24, 2018. Donald served in the US Navy in the South Pacific on the landing ship LST 1106. Later he worked for Babcock and Wilcox Co. as the Chief of Plant Security for 31 years. He served as Pastor of Bennetts Run United Methodist church for six years. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl, his sister, Joanne Cowie, and his brother, Paul Shellenberger. He is survived by his children, Lawrence Shellenberger, Donna Mayhew, Allen Shellenberger, Wanda Shellenberger, Peggy Rudisill and his sister, June Lewis. A Graveside service will be held on Monday at 1 pm at Lillyville Church of God Cemetery in Ellwood City.Rev. Dennis Arndt will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Bible Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Ellwood City.

  1. I worked with Don at the Babcock & Wilcox plant, he was my boss in the Plant Security Department for 13 years. Don was a great boss and very likeable person. I met Don several times after the B & W closed. He always greeted me with a laugh and a handshake. Condolences to the Shellenberger family.
