Lois was born on July 9, 1933 in Pine Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania to Harold and Olive
(Lutz) McCandless. She was the youngest of six children: Betty Luntz, Gerald (Pete), Harold (Howdie), Richard (Dick), and Peggy Beers. She thoroughly enjoyed hosting large dinners for people, attending church socials, spoiling her canine best friend, Gretel, and gardening her large flower and vegetable beds. However, her greatest love was for the Lord Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of Harmony Baptist Church of New Castle, Pennsylvania.
She was proceeded by her mother, father, her husband, two sisters, and brothers Pete and Howdie. She is survived by her brother, Dick, her three children, Kathleen of Ellport, J. Michael of Fombell, and Beth Ann Nicholson (Shawn) of Marienville, and grandchildren, Nicole, Katie, and Lauren Nicholson of Pittsburgh.
