Rebecca Sue “Becky” Sanders, 68, of Chippewa passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020 at her residence. Although she was in ill health, death was unexpected.
Born August 15, 1951 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Chester McQuiston and Jean (Shelatree) McQuiston of Wampum.
Becky graduated from Mohawk High School in 1969. She received a Bachelor’s Degree from Slippery Rock University and her Master’s Degree from Kent State. Becky worked as a kindergarten teacher in the Cleveland School District. She was later employed as an office manager for Ron August Trucking. An avid reader, Becky had an airplane pilots license and loved her rescue cats.
Along with her mother, survivors include an aunt, Phyllis Tillia of Wampum, a niece, Melissa McQuiston of Bessemer and numerous cousins and their families.
She was also preceded in death by a brother Randolph R “Randy” McQuiston and a sister Judith Ann in infancy.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday March 10 from 4-7 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, Main Street Wampum. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 with Rev Elizabeth Wallace of the Wampum Presbyterian Church officiating.
Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
