Catherine I. Jaskolka, 80

Catherine I. Jaskolka, 80, of North Sewickley Twp., Ellwood City passed away Thursday, April 2, 2020 at UPMC – Jameson Hospital following a short illness.

She was born in Chewton, the daughter of the late Andrew and Balvine (Modliszewski) Rychlicki.

Catherine graduated from Lincoln High School in 1958. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Church and active with the Christian Mothers Society. She was also the secretary at the church, retiring following 42 years of loyal service.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Carl E. Jaskolka; three sons, John (Vicki) Jaskolka of Stoneboro, Jim Jaskolka of Mercer, Joel Jaskolka of Ellwood City; and.a sister, Rita (John) Lamb of North Beaver Twp.

In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by sisters, Helen Hozick and Patricia and Janice Rychlicki..

Catherine deserves a beautiful tribute. However, in this unknown time with the COVID-19 pandemic, a memorial mass will be held at a later date. Please be with us in prayer.

  1. Carl, I want to express my deepest sympathy to you and your sons. I was sorry to learn of Cathy’s death. Cathy besides being a wonderful wife and mother, was such an integral part of the community. She always was so helpful and went about her duties in a pleasant manner. Thank you all for the help you have given our family over the years. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers as we approach Palm Sunday and Easter God bless you all.     We only had the privilege of meeting with you and Catherine in your lovely home in October of 2018. Both of you welcomed Stephanie and I so warmly.
    We know she will be missed by the four of you but she will be in your hearts and memories forever. Our thoughts and prayers are with Catherine and each of you at this very difficult time.

    Our deepest sympathies for your loss of Cathy.
    We will always remember the good times our families shared together over the years, especially when our children were little.
    We toured Pittsburgh, Boston, Hershey, museums, Shaker Villages and Fairs. They were wonderful times!
