Joann Novakovich, 59, of New Beaver Boro passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at UPMC – Jameson Hospital in New Castle. Although in ill health, death was unexpected.
Born December 31, 1960 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late John and Mildred (Mrkva) Novakovich.
Joann graduated from Lincoln High School in 1978. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and sewing. She loved going to the beach. Joanne was known as the jokester of the family. She had an honest and big caring heart. She cherished time spent with her family.
Survivors include a son, Chris Novakovich and his fiancé, Jen Martin of New Galilee; daughter, Nicole Householder and her fiancé, Vince Wyatt of New Castle; three sisters, Debbie Novakovich of Ellwood City, Diane (Larry) Parker of Ellwood City, Annie Novakovich of North Sewickley; and two brothers, Richard Novakovich of Texas and John Novakovich of Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her companion of many years, Donald Householder who died July 16, 2006.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, private family services will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum.

I’m very sad and sorry to read about the lose of Joann. Please accept my sincere and deepest sympathies. I have great memories of Joann with her “bullwinkle” hair complaints and the Amish hitchhiker story. She was definitely one of a kind.

This is her daughter Nicole, well my mom and the family called me Nikki so that’s what I go by. I just wanted to thank everyone who left a comment or sended their condolences bcuz it really means a lot. I’m so glad to see some of her friends remembering her wild and funny stories. I want everyone to remember the good times bcuz thats what she would want too. She would honestly be shocked to see how many people she made laugh and and made an impact on.
