Sharen A. Atkins ,73, of Fairview School Rd. Ellwood City, passed away May 10, 2020, at her residence following a lengthy illness.
Born January 2, 1947 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of Ethel Wallis Snare and the late Russell Snare. She was married to Harry “Curt” Atkins Jr. for 54 1/2 years, he survives.
Sharen was a graduate of Lincoln High School, class of ’64. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping at RV Village in Mercer, PA. Watching her grandkids’ sporting events has been the joy of her life. Her most precious time was spent with her family.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Amy (Bill) Rubin, and Kim (Seth) Hill, and her son, Todd (Theresa) Atkins all of New Castle; three sisters, Patty Kleinschmidt of CT, Linda (Rodney) Scott of TX, and Elaine (Mark) Cuddy of Pittsburgh; 11 grandchildren, Macy, Allyson and Kylee Rubin. Brooke, Regan and Tori Atkins. Caleb (Bella), Jadon, Jenna, Coltin, and Nathan Hill; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Due to the current situation of Covid-19, there will be no services at this time. A celebration of life will be held when we are allowed to gather again. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Ellwood City.

Dear Atkins family, I only knew Sharon during elementary school. I was good friends with Linda, her sister. She was always a joy to be around so know that she was something special right from the start. I am so sadden that she was taken too young! God bless.

Sharen was my niece but we were raised together more like sisters.She was only three years younger than I.I am blessed with many wonderful memories of her.God’s peaceful blessings on you Curt and the rest of her family.
