Ella J. Funkhouser, 86, of Wampum passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at her residence.
Born July 28, 1934 in Punxsutawney, she was the daughter of the late David and Violet Matheny Chapman. She was married to the late Clyde A. Funkhouser.
Ella, a woman of strong faith, was a member of the Chewton First Baptist Church. She belonged to the Pastor’s Aid Society. Ella was artistic and enjoyed crafting and crocheting. She had a happy go lucky personality and was loved by all. Ella loved dogs. Her most cherished moments were spent with family.
Survivors include four daughters, Janet (Jeff) Davis, Susan (John Sr.) Hawkins, Katherine Hewitt all of Wampum, and Roberta Spielvogel of Ellport; two sons, Robert Funkhouser and James (Pam Creese) Funkhouser of Fombell; three sisters, Ilene Gardner of Wampum, Verna Lee (Jack) Cortez of Ellwood City, and Sandra (William) Weingartner of Florida; brother, David (Carrie) Chapman of Prospect; eight granddaughters, Angel Marie Hawkins, Tina and Jamie Funkhouser, Diane Creese, Kayla (Jesse) Boles, Terri, Melanie, and Stacy Davis; ten grandsons, Joey, Shawn, and Jerry Funkhouser, Kevin (Nikkole) Davis, Justin (Charlotte) Hewitt, Dalton Hewitt, John Hawkins, Brian and Gary Davis, and James Creese; several great grandchildren and several grand puppies.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Chapman and a granddaughter, Debbie Creese.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday January 29, 2021 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donation in Ella’s memory may be made to the ASPCA.
