Ralph Frelin, 69

Ralph Frelin, 69, of North Sewickley Township passed away Monday, February 1, 2021 at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Born May 2, 1951 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Harry R. and Marion K. Pisani Frelin . He was married to Betty Altman Frelin for 45 years. She survives.

Ralph was employed by Advanced Auto in Michigan for many years. He had a joy for fishing. He was interested in technology, starting with ham radios and into computers. Ralph was an avid Steelers fan. He had a great sense of humor and never took things too seriously. Ralph had a huge heart and was there for anyone in need. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Christy Schmidt of Michigan, Reyna Frelin of Ellwood City; one son, Trevor (Amanda) Frelin of Eastvale; three brothers, Ron (Debbie) Frelin of New Beaver, Donnie Ray Frelin of Ellwood City, Harry (Melissa) Frelin of Ellwood City; two sisters, Anita Bauer of Michigan, Carol Pleiss of Easton, PA; nine grandchildren, Aeryk, Nick, Carli, Ciarrah, Tailyn, Raevyn, Ali, Kenni, Colton; and great granddaughter Londynn.

In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his brother Bob, his sister, K.J. Frelin, and his grandson Zaidyn.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday February 6, 2021 from 1:00 pm until the time of the memorial service at 3:00 pm with Rev. Jimmy Johnson officiating at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Avenue, Ellwood City.

  1. Thank u for taking me as one of your own children. A of times in life I don’t know what I would have done without u guys. U taught my children so many great things and taught me even more. I miss u so much I love even more dad? Be free and hug my Rob please and the rest of our family who are no longer with us.

  2. I am soo sorry for your loss. I met him over the radio(CB & Ham) & he would always call me for advice or just to talk. Considered him a good friend. Will miss you brother.

  3. Uncle Ralph, you will be missed beyond words. I am so heartbroken but I am relieved that you are no longer suffering with health ailments. Thank you for the laughs and the memories. I will always remember the summer of ’85 when I lived with you and Aunt Betty and the kids. Great memories. I already miss you so much!!   4. Im so sorry for your loss. Ralph was a great man. I met him on the cb radio. He has been to my house to visit a couple times. He will be sadly missed. Prayers to his family and friend.
