Kathleen J. “Kathy” Bucci, 75

Kathleen J. “Kathy” Bucci, 75, of Wampum passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022 at UPMC Passavant.

Born August 25, 1946 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Harvey and Margeret Berger Smith. She was married to Carmen Bucci.

Kathy was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Ellwood City. She was a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish in Ellwood City, and taught CCD in Koppel and Wampum for over 40 years. Her most cherished moments were spent with family, especially her grand and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Carmen; two daughters, Nicole Byers and Tiffany Gibson both of Wampum; two sons, Robert (Allison) Bucci of Enon Valley and Mark (Jessica) Bucci of Ellwood City; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother, Harvey (Lynn) Smith of New Castle; sister, Patty Livingston of Ellwood City.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father and mother in law, Nicholas and Mary Bucci and her brother in law, William Livingston.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 and from 7:00 to 9:00 at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main Street Wampum.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Holy Redeemer Church on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 10:00 am. Father Mark Thomas will officiate.

Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Funeral Home in care of the family.

  1. I am so sorry for your loss! Kathy was a guardian angel for our family, she watched our two kids when they were young. We cherish our memories of her!

  2. Kathy was a beautiful soul and a wonderful CCD teacher for years for St. Agatha and Holy Redeemer. She made a difference in the lives of hundreds of children preparing for their First Holy Communion. Rest in peace, Kathy! You will be missed!

    • When I was driving alone there were only two people that could give me grief and peace at the same time, my wife and my mother and how I will miss calling her to hear her say,” Rob that is not being Christ like.”

  6. I am so sadden to hear about Mrs. Bucci’s passing. I had her as my 2nd grade CCD teacher at St. Agatha, and always saw her at church. She was the sweetest lady and she always had a smile on her face. May God give you the strength and comfort for the days ahead. Rest in peace, Kathy. We will miss you!
