Gary L. “Shorty” Armstrong, 72

Gary L. “Shorty” Armstrong, 72, of Wampum passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Hospital following injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident.

Born February 6, 1950 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Plummer and Lucy Goodland Armstrong. He was married to Debra A. Clark Armstrong.

Shorty was a Veteran of the Army serving during Vietnam. He worked for Essroc as a kiln operator and was a lifelong member of the VFW Post 8106 in New Galilee.

Survivors include his wife Debra; two sons, Paul E. (Brenda) Armstrong of New Brighton and Matthew D. Armstrong of New Galilee; sister, Barbara Armstrong of North Carolina, and two brothers, Michael of New Castle and Donald Armstrong of Koppel.

He was preceded in death by two sisters Lucille and Mary.

Per Gary’s wishes there will be no services.

Arrangements entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum.

    Thank you for taking care of my brother. He had great things to say about you when I spoke with him. I have never met you but I am guessing you are a wonderful person. He was truly blessed for having you in his life. I am deeply sorry for the loss to you and your sons.

  2. You won’t know me but Gary was my best friend growing up and when we returned from Nam . I’m sorry for your loss . God bless him Charlie Mc Donald
