Robert W. “Rob” McCready, 69

Robert W. “Rob” McCready, 69, of New Galilee passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, February 3, 2023 at his residence following an extended illness.

Born September 23, 1953 in New Castle, he was the son of the late S. Wells and Sara Belle “Sally” Noggle McCready. He was married to Candy Johnson McCready.

Rob had graduated from Mohawk in 1972. Working alongside his father and brother, he became the 5th generation owner and operator of the Indian Run Dairy Farm. He was a member of The Galilean Presbyterian Church where he served as a former deacon and member of the choir. He was a member of the Beaver Lawrence Farm Bureau and the Pennsylvania Farmer’s Association. Rob enjoyed car shows and classic cars, red tractors, and the Beatles. He loved to work on the farm and milk cows. His most cherished moments were times spent with family.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years Candy; two daughters, Casey and Melissa McCready; sister, Beth Ann (Paul) Morrison and brother, Edward (JoAnn) McCready all of New Galilee.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Robbie and his stepmother Sarah Olayer McCready.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday February 10, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 and from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main Street Wampum.

Funeral Services will be held at the Marshall Funeral Home, on Saturday February 11, 2023 at 11:00 am with Rev Nathan Leslie officiating. Interment will follow in Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to The Galilean Presbyterian Church.

  1. The Mohawk High School Class of 1972 wishes to extend our most sincere condolences to Candy and the rest of the McCready family. We all have our memories of Robbie from elementary school through high school and beyond. Please know that you all are in our thoughts and prayers. We will all miss our Classmate. Rest in peace Rob.
