Weston L. “Buck” Altman, 91, of North Beaver Township passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at the Avalon Place.
Born June 30, 1932 in Cabot, he was the son of the late Mont and Alice Rath Altman. He was married to Marlene Joyce Doutt Altman for 62 years when she passed away on September 3, 2017.
Buck enlisted in the Army in 1953 serving in the Korean Conflict as a Sgt. After his Honorable Discharge from the Army in 1955, he worked at Medusa/Cemex in Wampum for 39 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Word Alive Church in Ellwood City. Buck enjoyed hunting, fishing, football, NASCAR, and traveling. His most cherished moments were time spent with his grand and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include daughter, Lugene (Dave) Barber of Wampum; son, Weston (Laurie McGee) Altman of North Beaver Township; six grandchildren David (Jenny) Barber, Timothy (Taryn) Barber, Matthew (Tiffany) Barber, Meghan (Will) Weltman, Katelyn (Brandon) Ratvasky, and Amanda (Josh) Long; sixteen great grandchildren, and a niece Joyce (Buck) Stokes.
The last of his family, Wes was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marlene, four brothers, William, Gary, Richard, and Bob Altman; two sisters, Eileen Ferrucci and Janet Beggs; and his nephew Ralph Ferrucci.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday July 14, 2023 from 3:00 pm until the Funeral Service at 5:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main Street Wampum. Pastor Cliff Reynolds will officiate. Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
