John R. Coulter, 61

John R. Coulter, 61, of Ellwood City passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 5, 2023 at his residence.

Born September 8, 1962 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Laird and Frances Cook Coulter.

John graduated from Lincoln in 1981. He was a self-employed handyman and enjoyed drawing and painting.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years Kerry Gardner Coulter; son, Josh (Heather) Coulter of Ellwood City; daughter, Kaylee (Dalton) Stewart of Ellwood City; sister, Linda (Paul) Cook York of West Chester; brother, Don (Patty) Coulter of North Sewickley, and two grandchildren Scarlett and Amelia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Larry and Jim Coulter and his father-in-law Charles Gardner.

Per John’s wishes no services will be held.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Arrangements entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Ellwood City.

  1. John was a dear family friend. Our patents were good friends, so we spent a lot of time together over the years. John was always quick to respond when my mom needed something done at the house. I will never forget his dry sense of humor and that certain look that had never changed since he was a young boy! My family and I are praying for your comfort and strength. Rest in peace, John.

  2. I was so sorry to hear of John’s passing. He was always so nice when he came to fix things at my house and very honest. When people needed something fixed he was always my first recommendation! He will be greatly missed. My deepest condolences to Kerry and the family 🙏🙏
