William K “Biff” Pander Jr, 85

William K. “Biff” Pander Jr, 85, of Ellwood City passed away peacefully Saturday, January 6, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Born January 7, 1938 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late William K. Pander Sr. and Jean Schantz Pander Weingartner. He was married to Helen ” Pudy” (Krestel) Pander for 64 years as they were married August 29, 1959. She survives

Biff retired from the Ellwood City School District where he was a 5th grade teacher at Walnut Ridge. He was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church. Biff graduated from Lincoln High School with the Class of 1955. During high school he played baseball and pitched a no hitter. As a child, he played on the first Little League team in Ellwood. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. He had a hole in one while playing at Green Meadows Golf Course.. Biff enjoyed spending time at his camp in Tionesta. His most cherished time was spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Shelly (Brian) Reiser and Melissa (Harry) Frelin; granddaughters, Hannah (Kyle) Jamison, Erica (Chris) Sutkowski Gray, and Abby (Bob) Sutkowski Maine; eight great grandchildren, River, Londyn, and Cruz Jamison, Preslie Frelin, Bryn and Declan Gray, Gracie and Tynan Maine, all of Ellwood City; a sister, Saundra (Ed) Wigton of Ohio; sisters-in-law, Becky Krestel Marcella and Linda Wilt Krestel both of Ohio, and a stepbrother, Bill (Sandy) Weingartner of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, J. Clair Weingartner, sister, Dixie Agostinelli, stepbrother, Denny Weingartner, brothers-in-law, John A. Krestel Jr and Thomas “Grasshopper” Krestel.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday January 10 from 2:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home. 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. His pastor, Rev. Tod Custer will officiate.
Final Interment will take place in Slippery Rock Cemetery.

    My most heartfelt sympathy on your loss of your husband and dad. He was such a joy to my dad as he was growing up.
    I truly wish I could be there to see Biff and no he is in the Greatest home of all with those that went before him and God’s everlasting love.
