Alexander C. Wisbith, 80, of Chippewa Township passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at VA Hospital-Aspinwall following a lengthy illness.

Born October 29, 1943 in Wampum, he was the son of the late Raymond and Veronica Jaskolka Wisbith.

Alexander or as everyone who knew him, Alex, was known as the strongest man they have ever met, both inside and out. Along with his strength, he was matched with his giving heart, willing to help anyone in need. These two traits carried him through as he served in the Army during the Vietnam era. He then worked at B&W as a machine operator. After the B&W shutdown, Alex worked at Stallion Hill Stables. Horses were his lifelong passion and his job at Stallion Hill Stables was the most fulfilling job of his life. Aside from his work, he found an immense joy in long walks through the woods, his impressively large knife collection, and found most joy of all in his long distance bike rides. His biking would take him all throughout town, and when that wasn’t enough, he was known to take his bike adventures all the way up to Moraine State Park and back. Above all, Alex cherished moments spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Alex is survived by two daughters, Missy (Ray) Yerace and Crissy (Ed) Schrantz both of Ellwood City; three stepchildren; Tammy, Amy, and John; two granddaughters, Samantha (Jesse) Hribar and Erica (Richie) Kruger; two grandsons, Holton and Kurtis Schrantz; three step-grandsons; two step-granddaughters, and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Alex was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Wisbith; brother, Leo Wisbith; sister, Joan Bell; grandson, Chase Schrantz; great-granddaughter, Stevie Jane Kruger; stepdaughter, Debbie Kazer, and stepgrandson, Travis Douglas.

Friends will be received on Tuesday October 29, 2024 from 3:00 pm until the funeral service at 7:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main Street Wampum. Rev. Mike Wimer will officiate. Military Rites will be observed by the Veteran's Honor Guard.
