Alice I. Baker

Alice I. Baker, 82, of  Park Dr., Wampum went to be with the Lord surrounded by her family on  Monday, March 18, 2013.  She passed away at the Ellwood City Hospital following a short illness.

Born July 1, 1930 in Wayne Twp., she was the daughter of the late Frank E. and Ruth E. McMunn Foreman.  She was married for 51 years  to George F. Baker who passed away on May 8, 2001.

Alice graduated from Lincoln High School in 1948.  She had formerly worked at Isaly’s and Morini’s in Wampum.  She also had worked at the Post Offices in Wampum, Koppel, and West Pittsburg.  She was affiliated with the Wampum Presbyterian Church.  Alice enjoyed crocheting and making puzzles.  She also enjoyed watching the wildlife around her home.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas O. (Carolyn) Baker of Wampum,  Mark R. (Marie) Baker of West Pittsburg; two daughters, Kathleen (James) Martin of Heath, OH, Karen (Scott) Murray of New Castle; sister, Gladys Peffer of Ellwood City; two sister in laws, Betty  Miller, Antoinette Foreman; brother – Earl Foreman of Virginia Beach; ten grandchildren, three step grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and three sisters.

Visiting hours will be held on  Wednesday March 20, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum.   Friends will also be received from 10 until the time of the funeral service at 11 am on Thursday with Rev. Marvin Mayle of the Work Alive Church and Rev. Dr. William R. McGary of the Wampum Presbyterian Church  officiating.

Interment will follow in Clinton Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Animal Friends in Ellwood City .
