Barbara L. Hairhoger, 92, of Perry Twp passed away on November 24, 2022, at the Passavant Retirement Center Zelionople.
Born August 17, 1930 in Chewton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Albina Kosior Hozick. She was married for 65 years to Joseph E. “Buster” Hairhoger who passed away December 30, 2012.
Barbara formerly worked at Isaly’s in Wampum and at the Ellwood City Knitting Mill. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1948. Barbara was a member of the Ladies of the Moose and of the Divine Grace Parish in Ellwood City, where she was a member and former secretary for the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed doing crafts and gardening. Barbara also enjoyed camping, for over 41 years, at the Holiday Camplands in Andover, Ohio.
Survivors include four daughters, Karen (Richard) Figurel of Chewton, Diana (Dean) Shallenberger of Ellwood City, Barbara (Michael) Gagliardi of Florida, and Kimberly (Sam) Grant of Ellwood City; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren with one on the way.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by two daughters, Cynthia Grant and Shirley Moore, and her brother Robert “Butzy” Hozick.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 28, 2022 at the Divine Grace Parish Church in Ellwood City at 1:00 pm with Father Mark Thomas officiating.
Entombment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
