Betty J. Ippolito, 95, of Wampum passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Quality Life Services in New Castle.

Born June 24, 1924 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Archie and Garnet (Lewis) Powell . She was married to Jacob A. Ippolito for 71 years when he died June 2, 2014.

Betty was a member of the former St. Monica Church in Wampum and currently a member at Holy Redeemer Parish in Ellwood City. She was active with Wampum’s Altar and Rosary Society. Betty graduated from Lincoln High School. She enjoyed quilting and sewing. She portrayed the Easter Bunny for the Wampum Lions Club for many years in a costume that she made herself. Betty belonged to numerous card clubs. She also enjoyed golfing. It was her passion. She belonged to golf leagues at a variety of local courses. Betty was proud of having a Hole in One.

Survivors include a son, Milton (Karen) Ippolito, two grandchildren, Mark Ippolito and Lisa Ippolito; twin great-grandchildren, Jacob and Tyler Glavan, all of Wampum and a sister, Erma Rossi of Tionesta.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by a son, Dennis on March 2, 1967; and siblings, Hazel, Edna, Joyce, Patty and Bill.

Our dear mother and grandmother deserves a beautiful tribute. However, due to Covid-19, a private blessing service will be held at the Marshall Funeral Home, Wampum. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in New Castle. Please be with us in prayer.
