Betty June Mccarty

Betty June McCarty, 92, of New Galilee, PA passed away on December 8th, 2020 at Franciscan Manor in Beaver Falls, PA. due to complications of COVID. She had been a resident there for 4 years.

Born in Bessemer, PA on April 8th, 1928 to the late Charles and Pearl Miller. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers and sisters and her husband of 56 years Donald McCarty.

She was a long-time member of Enon Valley Presbyterian Church where over the years she taught Sunday School and sang in the Choir.

Betty also served as Treasurer of the New Galilee VFW Post 8106 for several years.

Survived by four children: Linda Siever (Ted) of Mexico, NY, David McCarty (Judy) of Rochester, PA, Richard McCarty (Jody) of New Galilee, PA and Debora McCarty (Jackie Markham) of Uniontown, OH.  Seven grandchildren, Melissa Hurlbut of Mexico, NY, Kimberly Stanford of Beaver, PA, Jordan Kauffman of Beaver Falls, PA, Michael Siever of Pennellville, NY, Nicholas Marcellus of Akron, OH, Jeremy McCarty of Beaver Falls, PA and Jared McCarty of Seattle, WA. As well as six wonderful great grandchildren; Ashley, Brandon, Autumn, Tanner, Dakota and Lucy.

Betty’s joys in life were bingo, reading and fishing vacations with Don and their close friends. She enjoyed an occasional casino trip and never ever passed up ice cream. Her biggest joy though, by far, was her family. She loved cooking big family dinners and there was always room at the table for one more.

The family has chosen to forego a memorial service at this time and will plan a celebration of life when it is safe for all family and friends to attend.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Marshall Funeral Home.

Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery.
