Betty L. Butera

Betty L. Butera, 95, of New Beaver Boro passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Golden Hill Nursing Center following an extended illness.

Born December 18, 1921 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Nettie Ray Wigley Brooks. She was married for 53 years to Jack A. Butera who passed away February, 27, 1995.

Betty graduated from New Castle High School. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She also liked to sew and crochet. Her most cherished time was spent with family.

Survivors include son, John A. “Jack” Butera of New Beaver Boro; three daughters, Teresa Butera of New Beaver Boro, Lynn (Tom) Werner of Bessemer, Marty LeFebvre of Industry; a sister, Ruth McMonagle of Hubbard, Ohio; brother, Bob (Shirley) Brooks of Baden; eight grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert in 1979; and two sisters, Peggy McCracken and Lil Nicholson.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday January 4, 2017 from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at noon at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Betty’s name to Three Rivers Hospice, 2500 Mosside Blvd, Monroeville, PA 15146.
