Blanche Stephenson, 101, of Savannah Rd. New Castle (Shenango Twp.) passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Golden Hill Nursing Center following a brief illness.

Born October 15, 1913 in North Beaver Twp.,she was the daughter of the late Harry William and Viola Lillian Kuhn Allen. She was married for 58 years to Jesse M. Stephenson who passed away April 7, 1990.

Blanche graduated from Mt. Jackson High School. She first worked at Shenango China. She then worked at Kroger’s in New Castle retiring after 25 years of service as a cashier. Blanche was a member of the Moravia Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Edna Booher of Newton Falls, Ohio, Sarah Faye Aiken of Princeton; son, H. Curtis Stephenson of Shenango Twp.; six grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren.

The last of her family she was preceded in death by four sisters, Rhona Hammer, Mary St. Clair, Sarah Crawford, Alice Cory; and five brothers, Clarence, Ellis, James, Ralph, and Harry Allen. Two grandchildren, Linn Booher Jr., Del Booher; and a great granddaughter, Tiffany Booher also preceded her in death.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday March 12, from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main Street Wampum.

Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 am with her pastor, Rev. David Clark officiating.

Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Moravia Presbyterian Church.
