Brian M. "Pooch" Berendt, 62, of Ellport passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born June 25, 1962 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late William M. and Elsie L. Paul Berendt.
Pooch graduated from Lincoln High School in 1981. He retired as a truck driver and also worked with his brother at Berendt General Contracting. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Saxon Club in Ellwood City. A lifelong Rolling Stones fan, Pooch was a roadie for many local bands specializing as a sound engineer. He enjoyed golf, NASCAR, was a motorcycle enthusiast, and loved bonfires.
Survivors include daughter, Baylee (Billy) Baird of Ellwood City; son, Connor Berendt of Pittsburgh; sister, Paula Keitzer of Perry Twp; brother, Jeffrey (Betsy) Berendt of North Sewickley; niece, Veronica (Billy) Johnston of Patterson Twp, and nephew; Todd (Liz) Berendt of Wampum, and girlfriend, Jennifer Baker of Ellwood City.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Sharon Lynn and Dawna Kay Berendt.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday December 7, 2024 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Friends will also be received on Sunday December 8 from 1 until the funeral service at 2 pm at the Funeral Home. Pastor Ralph Kusserow will officiate.
