Carl M Bollinger Jr, 66, of Lawrence Avenue, Ellwood City died on Friday, November 2, 2012 at the home of his sister, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born November 19, 1945 in Frisco, PA, he was the son of the late Carl M. and Marion R. Clyde Bollinger Sr .
He was a truck driver for many years for Jefferson Poultry. Previously employed by Mathews Conveyor, Westinghouse, and IBM. Carl was an officer and member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He graduated from Lincoln High School, and from Penn State in 1967 where he studied electronic engineering. He enjoyed road trips, reading, country music and SciFi. He had a very creative mind and enjoyed intellectual challenges.
Survivors include 4 sisters – Nellie Miller of Ellwood City, Mary (Donald) French of Slippery Rock, Virginia Bollinger of Ellwood City, Connie (Edward) Miller of Ellwood City; 5 brothers – Paul (Sis) Bollinger of New Castle, James (Donna) Bollinger, Robert (Mary) Bollinger, John (Nancy) Bollinger of Ellwood City, Raymond G Bollinger of Ellwood City; Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother in law, a sister in law, four nieces, and a nephew.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday November 4, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, Inc. 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City.
Funeral Services will be held at the Marshall Funeral Home, Inc. on November 5, 2012 at 11:00 am with Pastor James A. Cannistraci officiating.
Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
